Dare to Dream

Imagine that it is summer and you are 9 years old. You are playing with your friends at the park. You see who can swing the highest and who can go across the monkey bars the fastest. As you win the race to the slide, you become the superhero who saves the world from spinning out of control. All of your superhero friends come up and tell you how great you are. Not that you want to brag - but you know what you did was awesome. As the sun starts to set, your Mom says it's time to go home. You promise your friends you'll come back tomorrow to finish out the superhero dream. Laying in bed that night you can hardly sleep thinking about how exciting the next day in the park with your friends will be and what adventures you'll take in your dreams.

Dreams can take you to the most amazing places. Places you've never seen and maybe some places you didn't even know existed. My dolls all live in their very own dreamland where they can do whatever they want everyday. Jane likes to swing and listen to the piano. Kelly and Rachel are good listeners for Jewel and Maria who talk constantly. Suzie loves to be outside and Mary likes to read. They all enjoy their lives because they can dream all day and make their dreams come true.

Dreams help you realize that you can do things you never thought possible. Nothing is very exciting without a little challenge, and you can always do anything if you put your mind to it. Your dreams are life's challenges to keep working for everything you want out of life. Although you may sometimes get discouraged, it's important to stay in the fight because when you do your best, you can never lose. Plus, there's more to get out of your dreams than just overcoming challenges.

Dreams give you something to look forward to and to live for. The teenage life is hard and filled with many decisions that will shape your life in the years to come. If it weren't for your dreams and aspirations, life would be dull and boring. As long as you keep dreaming of the wonderful life you can have, you can succeed and never look back. Having something to live for and look forward to keeps your dreams alive and makes it easier to help them come true.

As you make your dreams come true, it's amazing to think that they have finally turned into reality. That goal of reality can only be accomplished through dedication, hard work and many more sacrifices. Without these important skills, our hopes and dreams would be stuck in our dream world - never to turn into reality. But if you believe in yourself and your dreams, you will always have something to live for and look forward to and the dreams you never thought possible can be made a reality.

Everything that goes into daring to dream can be learned in Rainbow. Rainbow teaches us about love, religion, nature, immortality, fidelity, patriotism, service, faith, hope, and charity, which all have their own life lesson. All that we learn through Rainbow can be used in daring to dream and is put in perspective in this poem by Barbara Cage:

The Path to a Dream
The path to a dream is paved with sacrifices
and lined with determination.
And though it has many stumbling blocks along the way
and may go in more than one direction, it is marked with faith.
It is traveled by belief and courage, persistence and hard work.
It is conquered with a willingness to face challenges and
take chances, to fail and try again and again.
Along the way, you may have to confront doubts,
setbacks, and unfairness.
But when the path comes to an end, you will find that there is
no greater joy than making your dream come true.

TIME is of the essence when searching for your Life's Treasures, so take a chance and Dare to Dream!
